Wednesday 23rd November 2011. Heritage Tour by Mrs Peggy Young with daughters Jean and Angela.

Mrs Peggy Young (centre) is the wife of the late Dr. William Hall Young, who was a Commonwealth Medical Officer at the Woodman Point Quarantine Station from the 1950's through to the mid 1960's. Dr. Young was also one of the C.Q.S. doctors that was involved in the RMS Strathaird smallpox case when the vessel arrived at Fremantle on the 7th August 1954. Dr Young took part in the mass vaccination and re-vaccination of all passengers and crew on the ship, and in addition, kept a medical watch by staying onboard the ship for the journey to Adelaide to accompany the 286 passengers, that would inturn be disembarking at Adelaide.

2nd April 2011. Visit by Catherine O'Kane from Brisbane. Queensland

Catherine is a relative of Sister Rosa O'Kane.
Sister Rosa O'Kane died from Pneumonic Influenza at Woodman Point on the 21st December 1918. after volunteering to nurse the soldiers off the vessel H.M.A.T. Boonah soldiers suffering from the 'Spanish Flu'.

24th October 2010. Visit by Sister Eugenia Brennan and Sister Carmel O'Shea from St.John of God Hospital

Sister Eugenia Brennan (left) is researching the history of Sister Barbara, who contracted smallpox whilst caring for a smallpox patient off the vessel Naldera, who had been previously mis-diagnosed as suffering from Typhoid. Sister Barbara Smith passed away at Woodman Point Quarantine Station on the 17th March 1930.

April 14th 2010, An invitation was extended to Ms Faye Baxter and Ms Michelle Beer of Lotterywest for a tour of the Woodman Point Recreation Camp facilities.

6th September 2009, A tour was conducted of the Woodman Point Recreation Camp by Earle Seubert
from "Friends" for Members attending the Royal West Australian Historical Society, State History Conference.

Those attending the conference included Mr.Ian Darroch, Ms Annelle Perotti, and City Of Cockburn Mayor. Mr Logan Howlett, and are seen here at the Military Cemetery during part of the tour.

Saturday 29th August.2009, Earle Seubert of "Friends" and author Ian Darroch conducted a tour of the DSR Recreation Camp Woodman Point for students of John Curtin High School Media Group.

Bob was born at the Woodman Point Quarantine Station in 1931, and he is seen with his wife June in 2008. Bob's father Bertie commenced employment at the quarantine station in 1921, and retired as Head male Nurse in 1957. Bob was "Friends" initial Life Member, that was awarded to him on a special Open Day at Woodman Point in 2008.
Sadly, Bob passed away on the 28th February 2009. Bob's wife June passed away on the 20th March 2011.
