|13th January 2016. FIRE THREATENS THE WOODMAN POINT CAMP|
A fire started at Woodman Point in the vicinity of the Boat Storage Shed, at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, the 13th January 2016. Apparently deliberately lit fire, and then fanned by strong easterly winds, the unique bush that surrounds the DSR Camp, was soon ignited by the ferocious blaze, threatening the historic heritage listed buildings, and causing the Camp to be evacuated of all persons because of the extreme emergancy. There were no injuries sustained during the crisis, and luckily, no damage was caused to any of the DSR Camp buildings.
