Woodman Point Quarantine Station

14th November 2007: Thanks to Lotterywest our group was successful in its bid for a Lotterywest heritage interpretation grant to survey two known cemeteries at Woodman Point Regional Park using ground probing radar. Chief Executive Officers of the Heritage Council of Western Australia and the National Trust of Australia (WA) supported and endorsed the application, as did representatives from the Royal Western Australian Historical Society, the Rockingham Historical Society, the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) and the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR).The survey was conducted and completed in January/February 2008, and Friends of Woodman Point Recreation Camp (Inc). were able to present the results to the public during National Archaeology Week in May 2008.
